About the Spot

Comfort, peace, nature, simplicity

I created Comfort Spot in 2023, after moving and falling in love with Western North Carolina. After 30+ years in business, I took a leap of faith. My vision-turned-reality was to create a quiet, comfortable 'spot' in nature, where solo travelers, hikers, writers, motorcyclists, locals, leaf-peepers, couples, moms & daughters, or fathers & sons could just go off the grid for a few days. I truly believe in the power of connecting with nature, weather, silence, animal sights and sounds, and seeing the world through a simpler

lens than most days.

For all these reasons, Comfort Spot is not a luxury vacation spot. It is purposely simple, with few distractions, except maybe for working a puzzle, reading a book, playing a game or napping in the hammock. Since Comfort Spot is private, there are no other campers around you. Bonus: you feel far away, but you're just moments from ADVENTURE!

Comfort Cottage

Welcome to the Comfort Cottage! If you are looking for a peaceful place either for one night, or for a longer stay, Comfort Cottage is a perfect option for 1-2 people, or up to 4 occupants for short stays. Comfort Cottage is fully furnished and includes a queen bed and a queen pull-out futon in the living area. Full kitchen with coffee maker, oven, stovetop, microwave, heat/air, full bathroom, storage.

Enjoy the neighboring Comfort Porch for solitude, playing games, bird watching, painting, or taking a nap!

Cozy & clean sleeping bags and cots are provided if you decide to 'camp' overnight on the porch!
